Counselor's Handbook

INSTRUCTIONS: This course taken from the "Handbook for Christ-centered Substance Abuse and Addiction Counselors" is entitled "Christ-Centered Substance Abuse and Addiction Counseling" and is worth 40 CEUs.

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE FREE COUNSELOR'S HANDBOOK FROM THE LINK ON THIS PAGE (You may print it out in PDF format or read it online).

STEP 2: READ AND OUTLINE EACH CHAPTER USING AN OUTLINE FORMAT THAT GOES DOWN AT LEAST FOUR (4) LEVELS, eg. III, B., 2., a. Your goal is 1) To prepare a teaching outline that you may be able to use at some point in the future; and 2) To show us that you have read and understand the material contained in the Handbook. Make your outline points succinct and to the point on the one hand, but include enough information that will make the outline useful as a teaching tool on the other. You will have to sort between items that are significant enough to mention and those that are not.

STEP 3: SEND IN YOUR OUTLINE: When your outline is completed go to your local copy store or Office Depot and get it copied and bound in a spiral or tape binder. Keep one for yourself and mail in the other to ACADC with a check or money order for 40 CEUs in the amount of $295. Mail it to: ACADC Institute, PO Box 8604, Redlands, CA 92375.

Your work will be graded on quality and comprehension of outline and you will be issued a grade between A and Fail. For anything other than Fail, you will receive a certificate for 40 CEUs entitled "Christ-Centered Substance Abuse & Addiction Counseling" nice enough to hang on your wall.
