TESTING OUT POLICY

ACADC is committed to adhere to the policies and standards set forth by the California Department of Alcohol & Drug Programs and the National Organization of Competency Assurance in the conduct of our test out procedures for our Professional Certification, CDAAC, Certified Drug, Alcohol & Addictions, Counselor.  In order to test out with the professional state authorized CDAAC designation, you must first meet all state requirements.

All CDAAC applicants must take the CSAC I, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I Evaluation, which is a requirement for the award of the CDAAC for those who wish to go on for this professional designation.  The CSAC I tells us what we need to know about the applicant and serves as an entrance inventory. It lets us know if the taker has a Biblical Christian world view and enough spiritual wisdom and insight to do no harm in their counseling.  The CSAC I is not a pass / fail exam.  It is an entrance inventory.  If we see that you have weaknesses in certain areas, we will go over them with you and prepare you for your CDAAC studies.  After completing the CSAC I process, you will be immediately awarded the CSAC I Certification and authorized to begin your CDAAC studies.

With this certification, you will be qualified to counsel as a lay counselor in churches and there are many treatment centers that would also hire you. But in order to meet the state certification standards and earn our professional CDAAC certification, you must meet all of the California Department of Alcohol & Drug Programs requirements as well.

If you would like to take the CSAC I exam, call our office at 909-795-5655.
