In accordance with California Department of Alcohol and Drug Program regulations, the following link (click here to verify current certification "LEVEL and "STATUS") contains the certification level and current status of all persons registered or certified with the Association of Christian Alcohol and Drug Counselors and is listed for public view.

A certification “Level" may be listed as one of the following:

REG.  This is a requirement in the state of CA for anyone entering this field.  Please review the current CA ADP standards and regulations to find out how much time you have before you must be registered when obtaining employment in a CA ADP certified or licensed AOD facility.  With this level, you may participate as an intern only.    

CSAC-I   This certification is entry level.  Education and internship hours have not yet been presented or approved. This is a State of California approved certification that allows the recipient to provide counseling services within an CA ADP certified or licensed AOD facility as an intern only.       

CSAC-II   This certification shows the education requirements for certification have been satisfied. This is a State of California approved certification that allows the recipient to provide counseling services within an CA ADP certified or licensed AOD facility as an intern only.

CDAAC-P / RAS Intern  -  This certification shows the intern has met all the necessary requirements except the final ACE exam.  This intern has completed a minimum of 155 hours of education, 160 hours of supervised intern training and 2080 hours of internship working in a CA ADP certified or licensed AOD facility.  This is a State of California approved certification that allows the recipient to provide counseling services within an CA ADP certified or licensed AOD facility as an intern only.

CDAAC-P / RAS Dual Certificate   -  This dual certification is a professional Christian counselor certification and a State of California approved certification that allows the recipient to provide counseling services within an AOD certified or licensed facility as a counselor. Th RAS is a State of California approved certification that allows the recipient to provide counseling services within an CA ADP certified or licensed AOD facility as a Certified Counselor.   

MDAAC-P   This is a Master level Christian certification.  This status indicates all the necessary requirements that qualify a counselor to counsel as a State Certified Counselor in CA have not been met.  This is an approved certification that allows the recipient to provide counseling services within an CA ADP certified or licensed AOD facility as an intern only. 

MDAAC-P / MRAS  -  Master level dual certification.  This is a Master level Christian certification and a Master level State of California approved RAS certification that allows the recipient to provide counseling services within the Christian professional arena and within a CA ADP certified or licensed AOD facility as a Certified Counselor.

A certification “Status" may be listed as one of the following:

Active – This certification is current and in good standing.

Inactive - This certification is in need of renewal.  If the renewal date is older than six months, the counselor may be required to obtain additional education and a passing score on the RAS test.  Additionally, proof will need to be produced stating that 40 CEH/CEU were completed within the two year period prior to the request for renewal date.   

Suspended – This status means the counselor's certification is under a Certification Board review and the outcome is pending - A counselor listed with this certification status is not allowed to counsel until the suspension is lifted.

Expired – This status means the counselor's rights and privileges to counsel under this certifying agency have expired.  This individual is no longer allowed to counsel or intern under a registration or any certification received from this agency.

Revoked – This status means the counselor's rights and privileges to counsel under this certifying agency have been revoked.  This individual is no longer allowed to counsel or intern under a registration or any certification received from this agency.
